Don’t put a CB antenna in your briefcase. Even if like me you have a good reason to do so . Just don’t. I have misplaced my usual homemade tool, which is a half of a car antenna, with a sharpened, but not too sharp end and a loop end. So I grabbed an alternate “fishing rod” It’s too long and needs a bit of bending, potential energy becomes kinetic energy, and now I have one bloodshot eye and a bloody dent in the bridge of my nose. I got off easy on the ‘poke your eye out’ and was never good looking so the new dent will just blend in. I’m admitting this to my oppos, I’m telling Mrs Doorhandle that I got into a punch-up with some truckers in a honky-tonk.

Didn’t occur to me, but I had just finished installing mul tiple cameras on a freightliner in a well lit wareho use with a gazillion cameras.  There are probably 5 angles of me getting twanged in the face. still have to take my word though,  I DEFINITELY cannot post that video on oppo.

Its also not a purse because it holds a laptop, a box of sockets, a radio that runs on drill batteries, a torch, a road atlas, clif bars 2 travel mugs of coff ee, a car jumpstarter, an obd2 machine, lots of sharpies, safety glasses etc. It’s so far beyond “purse”,  It’s almost a battle station.

I thiught the reason for not having an antenna sticking out of your briefcase was going to go a different direction.

I used to park on the roof of my old job’s parking lot. One day my phone was dying, so I plugged my phone into my laptop and had the cord dangling out of the bag when I went back to my car .

As it happens, the Vice President was in the area to make a speech. I noticed a glint on top of a building and realized there were some secret service snipers who were giving me a good hard look and  I can only imagine that they  were wondering why I was on the roof of a parking garage carrying a briefcase with wires hanging out of it

Obama comes to my town to vacation. His first year here as president my mom had an employee of middle eastern descent. H was out on the har bor one day doing a tuneup on a cust omer’ s boat. Her uniform for her techs at the time was all black.

So imagine you’re a secret service member in charge of doing security sweeps, and you spot a middle eastern man dressed head to toe in black doing something mechanical to a boat in the middle of the harbor.

Imagine what went through this poor technician’s head when he looks up and there’s a Black Hawk circling very looooow overhead.

Hey I carry a purse. My wife calls it a “satchel” but we all know what it is. And by god, my life has changed for the better. The amount of crap you can carry with you is unreal . I’m waiting on a stamp and I will carry my MP5K in it too!

Admission of stupidity / safety tip from me: don’t kick the wheel chocks out from a trailer with a boat on it, then follow it downhill through the wall of a nearby building, trying to stop it.

Just let it go. Or, you know, hook it up to something before taking the wheel chocks out.
